a list of toxic ingredients in typical body care products and cosmetics

Compiled By ZaKaiRan

Dear Wondrous Sensitive Master of Love-Light,

It is my passion and desire to educate my fellow brothers and sisters, not only about the wondrous workings of the universe, this divine planet, (and our divine Magnificence), but also illuminating the countless illusions of the Matrix and the dangers of this old world of exclusivity and denial to us sensitive beings. It is also my passionate desire to support our Divine Mother Gaia and my beloved family of humanity, by only supporting endeavors that are supportive of the health and prosperity of Mother Earth and everyone upon her.

If you have not already, you will soon grow increasingly sensitive to electromagnetic radiation, and all man-made chemicals, metals, toxins, pesticides, herbicides, genetically engineered ‘franken’ foods, and the countless other chemicals that we are relentlessly bombarded with.

You can rightfully love honor and nurture yourself as the God/Goddess that you are, by only putting in and on your body only loved & honored and nurtured (certified organic) foods and products that are totally beneficial to your physical and spiritual health.

Please read my articles on food on my website:

If you do not already know, and have not begun reading labels on products, it is time to start. The general rule is, if any word in the ingredients sounds like a scientific chemical name, then it is a man-made and probably petroleum based chemical and guaranteed to be toxic to your system, (as you will see in the toxic ingredient list at the bottom of this article). Other chemicals that are proposed to be “natural”, because they were derived from natural products, were more than likely synthesized using toxic chemical to do so.

And I don’t have to list pesticides and herbicides and their possible affect upon your body, not to mention the extreme lack of nutrients in non – certified organic foods. Typical farms only fertilize crops with three minerals. (For more about this and minerals, See free book: “the Root of all Diseases”

Luckily, due to the Organic Certification process, that is monitored by reputable independent third parties, that are not under corporate control, there are alternatives available to us. https://zakairan.mionegroup.com

Organic Standards

All of the companies know that people are leaning heavily towards healthy organic foods and products. But companies cannot legally patent and control natural substances. This is why they create so many chemically synthesized “natural” derivatives, which they can legally own. And these companies are claiming that these chemicals are natural and “organic”. These terms are used loosely and frivolously without any basis in fact.

“Our skin is the largest eliminatory organ in the body. It is a two-way membrane. Toxins are eliminated through the skin via perspiration and absorbed through the skin, into the body's systemic circulation, through hair follicles and sebaceous glands (not through sweat glands). One square inch of skin contains 65 hairs, 100 sebaceous glands, and 650 sweat glands”.

Cosmetic manufacturers and body care companies are not legally allowed to claim that their products penetrate our skin, even though that is exactly what they do. If they did (the products would then be labelled a 'drug' and henceforth be governed by much stricter regulations. This is both good and bad. Good because it means your skin can be nourished from the outside with some wonderful ingredients, without strict governmental and medical control. But bad because it means Cosmetic manufacturers and body care companies can put into their products chemicals that would never be allowed to be taken orally, but are still absorbed into our system, through our skin.

So because the cosmetics and medical industry, do not recognize the facts that our bodies absorb chemicals that are put onto our skin or in our hair, we are being poisoned with countless toxins that are legally allowed in our cosmetics and body care products, chemicals that could literally kill us if ingested in large enough quantities. Of course, these chemicals are typically in small quantities, but because our skin absorbs them, through time, we accumulate a massive amount of toxins in our systems.

WHAT DOES "NATURAL" AND "ORGANIC" MEAN ON PRODUCT LABELS?

Nowhere does the idea of "natural" or "organic" take a more gratuitous bruising than the cosmetics industry.

If we look at the term "natural" we probably define it as "existing in, or formed by nature; not artificial". Many labels have long lists of chemical names, some followed by the phrase "derived from . . ." (some natural substance). This is misleading to consumers. When chemicals such as Cocamide DEA or Sodium Hydroxysultaine are followed by the term "derived from coconut oil" the consumer is led to believe that these synthetic chemicals must be natural. While this may be true in some cases; it is ultimately irrelevant because what you end up with after the chemical processing is usually anything but natural or pure. For example, to create Cocamide DEA, a foaming agent in some shampoos, requires the addition of a synthetic chemical and known carcinogen, Diethanolamine - DEA, to the coconut oil. It is therefore no longer natural, or safe!

If we look at the term "organic," we usually think it means 'grown and cultivated without the use of chemicals'. That is the conclusion most cosmetics companies would like us to make when we see the term "organic" on a label. Some of those companies are cynically using the chemistry definition of "organic" - meaning a compound that contains a carbon atom. Carbon is found in anything that has ever lived. By using this definition of organic, they are saying that a petrochemical preservative called Methyl Paraben is "organic" because it was formed from leaves that rotted over thousands of years to become crude oil, which was then used to make this preservative.

An increasing number of companies are now claiming to use "organic" herbs in their products. But what about the rest of the ingredients? Are they safe? Isn't there an authority that governs the use of the term "organic" on labels? The simple answer is NO. However, the term "certified organic" IS governed by a number of internationally recognised bodies. In Australia, Australian Certified Organic (ACO) is the largest. Searching for products with the logo of a certifying body on the label is the only way you can guarantee the organic authenticity and integrity of every ingredient in the product. Without this, the organic claim means nothing, as it cannot be verified.

Is your Shampoo Killing you?
Comparing Moisturisers (typical chemical ingredient list vs. certified organic)

IS YOUR SHAMPOO KILLING YOU?

Shocking evidence of industrial chemicals in your everyday personal care products that may be doing you and your family harm.

Did you know that your shampoo probably contains chemicals which are also used in engine degreaser, anti-freeze and brake fluid? Have a look at your shampoo and conditioner bottles and you will most likely find Sodium Laureth Sulphate or Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) and Propylene Glycol. SLS is found in harsh detergents and is used as a surfactant to break down the surface tension of water. Industrial uses include concrete floor cleaners, engine degreaser and car wash detergents to name a few.

So why does it matter if you're not eating the chemical?

Because we know that anything you put on your skin topically will find its way through your pores and into your bloodstream.

The Journal of the American College of Toxicology states the following:

SLS is used in chemical studies to irritate skin tissue.
SLS corrodes hair follicles and impairs ability to grow hair.
SLS enters and maintains residual levels in the heart, liver, lungs and brain from skin contact (shampoos?)
SLS denatures protein, impairs proper structural formation of young eyes - damage permanent.
SLS can damage the immune system, cause separation of skin layers and cause inflammation to the skin.

The Material Safety Data Sheet for Propylene Glycol states: Implicated in contact dermatitis, kidney damage and liver abnormalities. Can inhibit skin cell growth in human tests and can damage cell membranes causing rashes, dry skin and surface damage.

Propylene Glycol is another chemical that is used in brake fluid, anti-freeze, laundry detergents, paints and coatings and floor wax. Propylene Glycol serves as a humectant - a substance that helps retain moisture content - or simply, it prevents things from drying out. This is the reason it's in skin care and cosmetics. It makes the skin feel moist and soft and the products don't dry out.

Most companies claim these chemicals are safe. But what long term tests have been done to prove that these chemicals aren't doing any long term damage? After all, cancer is also linked to chemicals. How do we know that the build up of these chemicals isn't contributing to health problems? So why are these chemicals used? Because they do the job and they are cheap! But there are alternatives which are totally chemical free...

LIPSTICK - Does your Lipstick contain Lead?

Brands don't mean everything..._

This is how to test Lipstick for "Lead"....... Keep reading.__

Lead is a chemical that causes cancer. Recently a brand called, "Red Earth" decreased their prices from HK$67 to HK$9.9.......... It contained lead.

The Brands, which contain Lead, are: 1. Christian Dior_ 2. LANCOME_ 3. CLINIQUE_ 4. Y.S.L_ 5. ESTEE LAUDER_ 6. SHISEIDO_ 7. RED EARTH (Lip Gloss)_ 8. CHANEL (Lip Conditioner)_ 9. Market America-Motives lipstick__

The higher the lead content, the greater the chance of causing Cancer. After doing a test on lipsticks, it was found that the Y.S.L. lipstick contained the most amount of lead. Watch out for those lipsticks, which are supposed to stay longer. If your Lipstick stays longer, it is because of the higher content of lead.

Here is the test you can do yourself. 1. Put some lipstick on your hand.
2. Use a 24k -14k Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick..
3. If the lipstick colour changes to black then you know the lipstick contains lead!

Carbon Negative - Another World's First From Miessence

Miessence Certified Organic Body and Health Care company goes carbon negative (with every purchase, you are actually helping the environment!)

Miessence has finalised plans to become the world's first certified organic skin care, personal care and nutritional products company to be carbon negative.

As the debate on climate change and carbon emissions continues, Miessence believes that responsible companies shouldn't stop at simply reducing their own carbon emissions - something Miessence has been doing for years - but take action to move towards a carbon neutral world.

Now with every purchase of Miessence products, you'll actually be helping the environment by taking excess carbon out of the atmosphere.

To accomplish this important work, Miessence has extended our partnership with Greenfleet, a leading conservation organisation in Australia that provides practical ways for people, businesses and organisations to prevent and minimise the greenhouse gases they produce. Greenfleet works to create forests in areas of environmental concern, putting back (where possible) the mix of native species that would have been present in the local area prior to land clearing, and now has in excess of 6 million trees growing to capture carbon on behalf of its supporters. That's news worthy to be shouted from the mountain tops!

Miessence Environmental Statement

Our passion for organic products translates into a devotion to ethical and sustainable business practices that support the environment. We achieve this through an internal focus on eco-friendly business practices and by following innovative and ecological business ideas. We practice a genuine 'cradle-to-grave' approach to sustainable manufacturing and invite like-minded suppliers and partners to share in this work with us.

As the world's first certified organic skin care, personal care and nutritional products company to achieve carbon negative status, it is our established policy to be committed to and responsible for the environmental legacy of our company. To achieve this goal we engage in the following activities:

• Consistently work to exceed regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Look for new ways to eliminate or minimise the effects of pollution on our world.
• Utilise raw materials, water and energy in the most efficient ways.
• Work with only certified organic and environmentally responsible suppliers and sub-contractors wherever practical in order to reduce our environmental impact.
• Regularly monitor and audit our environmental performance with third-party certifiers.
• Consistently work to reduce the environmental impact of our manufacturing and distribution processes where practicable.
• Have become a carbon negative company through the purchase of carbon credits exceeding our usage.
• Implemented a waste minimisation programme involving recycling strategies and providing segregation of wastes needing disposal.
• Continually train company personnel to implement environmental management techniques effectively.
• Take education seriously and regularly educate customers and alliance partners to promote the principles of sustainability wherever possible so that everyone can collectively make a positive difference in their health and the future of the environment.

Cocoyl Sarcosine - See Nitrosating agents

Cyclomethicone - See Silicone derived emollients

DEA (diethanolamine), MEA (Monoethanolamine), & TEA (triethanolamine)

Often used in cosmetics to adjust the pH, and used with many fatty acids to convert acid to salt (stearate), which then becomes the base for a cleanser. TEA causes allergic reactions including eye problems, dryness of hair and skin, and could be toxic if absorbed into the body over a long period of time.

These chemicals are already restricted in Europe due to known carcinogenic effects. Dr. Samuel Epstein (Professor of Environmental Health at the University of Illinois) says that repeated skin applications . . . of DEA-based detergents resulted in a major increase in the incidence of liver and kidney cancer.

See Nitrosating agents

From Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS): Health Hazard Acute And Chronic: Product is severely irritating to body tissues and possibly corrosive to the eyes.

Explanation Carcinogenicity: Amines react with nitrosating agents to form nitrosamines, which are carcinogenic.

Diazolidinyl urea - Established as a primary cause of contact dermatitis (American Academy of Dermatology). Contains formaldehyde, a carcinogenic chemical, is toxic by inhalation, a strong irritant, and causes contact dermatitis.

Ethoxylated surfactants - Ethoxylated surfactants are widely used in cosmetics as foaming agents, emulsifiers and humectants. As part of the manufacturing process the toxic chemical 1,4-dioxane, a potent carcinogen, is generated.

On the label, they are identified by the prefix "PEG", "polyethylene", "polyethylene glycol", "polyoxyethylene", "-eth-", or "-oxynol-".

See 1,4-Dioxane

FD&C Colour Pigments - Synthetic colours made from coal tar. Contain heavy metal salts that deposit toxins onto the skin, causing skin sensitivity and irritation. Animal studies have shown almost all of them to be carcinogenic.

Formaldehyde - Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen (causes cancer). Causes allergic, irritant and contact dermatitis, headaches and chronic fatigue. The vapour is extremely irritating to the eyes, nose and throat (mucous membranes).

See Nitrosating agents

Fragrance - Fragrance on a label can indicate the presence of up to four thousand separate ingredients, many toxic or carcinogenic. Symptoms reported to the USA FDA include headaches, dizziness, allergic rashes, skin discoloration, violent coughing and vomiting, and skin irritation. Clinical observation proves fragrances can affect the central nervous system, causing depression, hyperactivity, and irritability.

Hydrolysed Animal Protein - See Nitrosating agents

Lauryl dimonium hydrolysed collagen - See Cationic surfactants

Lauryl or Cocoyl Sarcosine - See Anionic Surfactants

Lauryl Sarcosine - See Nitrosating agents

Liquidum Paraffinum - Liquidum Paraffinum is an exotic sounding way to say mineral oil (!!) - See Mineral Oil

MEA compounds - See Nitrosating agents

Methylisothiazolinone and Methylchloroisothiazolinone - Both cause cosmetic allergies

Mineral Oil - Petroleum by-product that coats the skin like plastic, clogging the pores. Interferes with skin's ability to eliminate toxins, promoting acne and other disorders. Slows down skin function and cell development, resulting in premature aging. Used in many products (baby oil is 100% mineral oil!) Any mineral oil derivative can be contaminated with cancer causing PAH's (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons). Manufacturers use petrolatum because it is unbelievably cheap.

· Mineral oil
· Liquidum paraffinum (also known as posh mineral oil!)
· Paraffin oil
· Paraffin wax
· Petrolatum

Nitrosating Agents

The following chemicals can cause nitrosamine contamination, which have been determined to form cancer in laboratory animals. There are wide and repeated concerns in the USA and Europe about the contamination of cosmetics products with nitrosamines.

· 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol
· Cocoyl Sarcosine
· DEA compounds
· Imidazolidinyl Urea
· Formaldehyde
· Hydrolysed Animal Protein
· Lauryl Sarcosine

From Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS):

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW: WARNING! HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED OR INHALED. CAUSES IRRITATION TO SKIN, EYES AND RESPIRATORY TRACT. MAY CAUSE ALLERGIC SKIN REACTION.

SKIN CONTACT: CAUSES IRRITATION TO SKIN. SYMPTOMS INCLUDE REDNESS, ITCHING, AND PAIN. MAY CAUSE ALLERGIC SKIN REACTIONS.

EYE CONTACT: CAUSES IRRITATION, REDNESS, AND PAIN.

Paraffin wax/oil - Paraffin Wax is mineral oil wax. See Mineral Oil

Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) compounds - Potentially carcinogenic petroleum ingredient that can alter and reduce the skin's natural moisture factor. This could increase the appearance of aging and leave you more vulnerable to bacteria. Used in cleansers to dissolve oil and grease. It adjusts the melting point and thickens products. Also used in caustic spray-on oven cleaners. - See Ethoxylated surfactants

Potassium Coco Hydrolysed Collagen - See Anionic Surfactants

Propylene/Butylene Glycol
- Propylene glycol (PG) is a petroleum derivative. It penetrates the skin and can weaken protein and cellular structure. Commonly used to make extracts from herbs. PG is strong enough to remove barnacles from boats! The EPA considers PG so toxic that it requires workers to wear protective gloves, clothing and goggles and to dispose of any PG solutions by burying them in the ground. Because PG penetrates the skin so quickly, the EPA warns against skin contact to prevent consequences such as brain, liver, and kidney abnormalities. But there isn't even a warning label on products such as stick deodorants, where the concentration is greater than in most industrial applications.

From Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS): Health Hazard Acute And Chronic

INHALATION: May cause respiratory and throat Irritation, central nervous system depression, blood and kidney disorders. May cause Nystagmus, Lymphocytosis.

SKIN: Irritation and dermatitis, absorption.

EYES: Irritation and conjunctivitis.

INGESTION: Pulmonary oedema, brain damage, hypoglycaemia, intravascular hemolysis. Death may occur.

PVP/VA Copolymer - A petroleum-derived chemical used in hairsprays, wavesets and other cosmetics. It can be considered toxic, since particles may contribute to foreign bodies in the lungs of sensitive persons.

Quaternium-7, 15, 31, 60, etc - Toxic, causes skin rashes and allergic reactions. See Nitrosating agents

From Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS):

SKIN: PROLONGED OR REPEATED EXPOSURE MAY CAUSE SKIN IRRITATION. MAY CAUSE MORE SEVERE RESPONSE IF SKIN IS DAMP.

MAY BE A WEAK SKIN SENSITIZER IN SUSCEPTIBLE INDIVIDUALS AT GREATER THAN 1% IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION.

Rancid Natural Emollients
- Natural oils used in cosmetics should be cold pressed. The refined vegetable oils found on supermarket shelves and many health food stores which lack colour, odour and taste are devoid of nutrients, essential fatty acids, vitamins and unsaponifiables - all valuable skin conditioning agents! They also contain poisonous "trans" fatty acids as a result of the refining process.

Another important factor to consider with creams made from plant oil is the use-by date. The most beneficial plant oils (like rosehip, borage and evening primrose oils) are polyunsaturated, which means they oxidise and go rancid fairly quickly (about 6 months). Most off-the-shelf cosmetics have a shelf life of three years. Rancid oils are harmful, they form free-radicals, which damage and age your skin.

Silicone derived emollients Silicone emollients are occlusive - that is they coat the skin, trapping anything beneath it, and do not allow the skin to breathe (much like plastic wrap would do.)

Recent studies have indicated that prolonged exposure of the skin to sweat, by occlusion, causes skin irritation. Some synthetic emollients are known tumour promoters and accumulate in the liver and lymph nodes. They are also non-biodegradable, causing negative environmental impact.

· Dimethicone
· Dimethicone Copolyol
· Cyclomethicone

Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate - See Anionic Surfactants

Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) Ammonium Laureth Sulfate (ALES)

When combined with other chemicals, SLES and ALES can create nitrosamines, a potent class of carcinogens. It is frequently disguised in semi-natural cosmetics with the explanation "comes from coconut".

See Anionic Surfactants
See Ethoxylated surfactants
See Nitrosating agents

From Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS): WARNING! CAUSES SKIN AND EYE IRRITATION! AVOID CONTACT WITH EYES, SKIN AND CLOTHING. THE MATERIAL WAS CLASSIFIED AS A MODERATE TO SEVERE EYE IRRITANT.

Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate - See Anionic Surfactants

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS) - Used in car washes, garage floor cleaners and engine degreasers - and in 90% of products that foam.

Animals exposed to SLS and ALS experience eye damage, central nervous system depression, laboured breathing, diarrhoea, severe skin irritation, and even death.

Young eyes may not develop properly if exposed to SLS and ALS because proteins are dissolved. SLS and ALS may also damage the skin's immune system by causing layers to separate and inflame. It is frequently disguised in semi-natural cosmetics with the explanation "comes from coconut".

See Nitrosating agents See Anionic Surfactants

From Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS): EYE CONTACT:

INSTILLATION OF A 29% SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE SOLUTION INTO THE EYES OF SIX ALBINO RABBITS PRODUCED SEVERE IRRITATION. THE MATERIAL WAS CLASSIFIED AS A SEVERE SKIN IRRITANT.

Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate – See Nitrosating agents. See Anionic Surfactants

Stearalkonium Chloride - A chemical used in hair conditioners and creams. Causes allergic reactions. Stearalkonium chloride was developed by the fabric industry as a fabric softener, and is a lot cheaper and easier to use in hair conditioning formulas than proteins or herbals, which do help hair health. Toxic.

See Cationic surfactants
